AP Fees Policy
- The actual cost for each AP exam is $99, but for Chiles students, this cost is covered by the state of Florida. While many students across the country must pay for these exams out of pocket, there are certain situations where Chiles students will incur a $40 fee per exam, as charged by the College Board. These fees are billed to the student accounts of 9th-11th graders. Seniors (12th graders) must pay this fee directly to Mrs. Warren prior to graduation rehearsal.
- Registering for an AP Exam in AP Classroom after Friday, November 15, 2024, at 2:00pm for full-year and Semester 1 classes.
- Registering for an AP Exam in AP Classroom after Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00pm for Semester 2 classes (US Government).
- Dropping an AP class after Friday, November 15, 2024, for full-year and Semester 1 classes.
- Dropping an AP class after Friday, March 14, 2025, for Semester 2 classes (Government).
- Please note - if you drop an AP class, you will not be allowed to take the exam.
- Failing to show up on the day of the scheduled AP Exam.

- All students taking AP courses at Chiles High School are expected to take their AP exams as scheduled. However, certain situations may necessitate late testing. The acceptable reasons for rescheduling AP exams are listed below.
Automatic Rescheduling by Testing Coordinator
- Disability accommodation issues or tests overlapping
- Religious/holiday observance
- Two AP exams scheduled at the same time
Situations Requiring Documentation
- Academic or Athletic Event
- For events connected to a CHS club or sports team, the Athletic Director, team coach, or club sponsor should contact Mrs. Warren with the student’s name and exam details.
- For events connected to external organizations, students must provide a letter from their coach, sponsor, or organizational president, along with additional documentation (e.g., event invitation or award certificate).
- Emergency (Serious Injury, Illness, Family Tragedy)
- Provide a doctor’s note on official letterhead for illness or injury. The note must indicate active illness.
- Family tragedies
- Provide sufficient documentation (e.g., obituary).
- Student Court Appearance
- Provide a copy of a subpoena or other court documentation indicating the required date and time.
Situations Requiring a $40 Late-Testing Fee
- Extenuating circumstances not listed above may be considered by Mrs. Warren and administration, but a late exam is not guaranteed.
Requests That Will Be Denied
- Inadequate exam planning
- Not bringing your charged Chromebook (for digital exams)
- Oversleeping
- Excessive traffic on exam day
- Not knowing the date and/or time for your exam
- Family vacation
